Many people today still believe that we have to see something in order to believe in it. We remain convinced that the ultimate proof of something’s existence is that we can see, touch or taste it. If a thing lies beyond our senses, we find it hard to accept that it really exists.
But the world has moved on, and scientists now hold that the world around us is not as solid as it seems. It turned out that the atom is not the smallest thing there is: inside the atom there is empty space and a few even smaller particles.
Each of us lives in this unreal world. We are equipped with physical bodies that we consider solid. But our bodies are not constant: the atoms in us change, we regenerate, we age and so on. Roughly every six months, every molecule and every fibre in the whole body is replaced with a new one.
If we could perceive reality as it is, rather than as our senses interpret it, we would know that the body is spinning around itself – this is the conclusion drawn from scientific experiments.
Since the physical body obeys the same laws as the rest of matter, we know that apart from the swarms of particles that make up the atom, there is nothing. So in essence you are a pattern of information, at one with everything. This mechanism is what makes magic possible. You are one with everything. You are subject to a universe that is unpredictable and unknown. The trouble is that most of us forget our own laws. We behave as though the physical world were all that could be, and we do not look into our intuition and hidden abilities.
Magic is a doctrine that defines not only a spiritual being but also a being that can be persuaded that it is able to manipulate the world. A simple example is dreams, which are an inseparable part of our sleep. In a dream, everything seems real; when we wake, we realise it was fiction and illusion.
In the dream you become a magician, a sorcerer who can work wonders – wonders unimaginable in the real world. So why can’t you carry the dream over into reality? An ordinary person who lives only in reality will never achieve this, but a magician who firmly believes in this power will be able to do incredible things.
To get there, however, you need an “awakening”, and it is very hard to awaken from the physical world. You are limited by your consciousness and experience. As human beings we have two bodies – the physical body and the etheric body (which holds our energies). Training the etheric body takes time, faith and practice.
