Channelling is a very popular concept in esotericism. The term comes from English and means the direct transmission of energy from spirits, or even from beings belonging to extraterrestrial civilisations.
Channelling, clairvoyance and mediumship
How does the process of channelling differ from clairvoyance or mediumship? All three ways of communicating are often used.
Channelling is a process in which we step back from our conscious mind and allow a source of inner energy to flow through us. Thought is a vibration of energy, and information has no fixed shape but takes on various forms. Channelling rests on the belief that some emotional centre (such as spirit guides, angels or God) sends information through a channel to a person in a trance.
This way we can gain a great deal of information about our own lives and the lives of others. By entering an altered state of mind, we receive signals from another energetic dimension. Thanks to this phenomenon we can communicate with higher spiritual beings, who can help us in life by steering us onto the right path.
Clairvoyance is the process of receiving information through the sixth sense. It is an ability that makes it possible to perceive phenomena, people and objects across time and space. Science cannot explain the phenomenon of clairvoyance, because it cannot be seen with the naked eye.
There is clairvoyance of the future (precognition), clairvoyance of the past (retrocognition) and psychometry – clairvoyance that describes objects, places or people on the basis of an object. A clairvoyant often reads the future, and what has happened or is happening, from the mass consciousness. The reason is the growing intuitive sensitivity of the many people who make up that mass consciousness. It may look like a web of threads and connections between open minds, joined on the energetic plane.
Mediumship is a complex art for skilled people. It is an art that spiritists have used throughout history to help others understand life and the problems around them with the help of spirits. The information may come from deceased loved ones or from other spirits who have seen much, possess great knowledge and wish to help others. Contacting spirits on the other side can be an instructive experience, but sometimes a dangerous one too. Mediums are people with a well-developed capacity for telepathy. Mediumship is used in religious practices such as spiritualism, spiritism, voodoo, shamanism, macumba, Wicca and umbanda.
Channelling is a distinct form of contact with alien beings – a spiritual and lasting contact. A medium who experiences this form of otherworldly contact is not a person of ordinary abilities. Channelled messages are very often received by spiritually minded people with paranormal abilities, chosen by “extraterrestrial beings”, who are gradually admitted to ever deeper levels of initiation, so that their contact with extraterrestrial beings and spirits keeps improving.
