Domino Divination: What Each Tile Means

Wróżby z domina – znaczenie kostek

The earliest records of dominoes come from 12th-century China, where the tiles were used for divination. Today dominoes are mainly used for playing rather than fortune-telling. The rules of domino divination are strict: you should not consult the tiles more than once a week, and a set should be kept either for divination or for play – never both.

Each of the 28 domino tiles is made up of two halves marked with 0 to 6 pips, from double blank to double six.

6-6 = Your dreams come true

6-5 = you will do something that earns you respect and recognition from those around you; a visit from someone close is possible

6-4 = a quarrel or court case soon, but one that ends in success

6-3 = a journey awaits you that could change your life

6-1 = the end of your run of bad luck

6-0 = you are counting on someone, but you will not get help from them

5-4 = don’t take risks, as financial losses await you

5-3 = everything is going your way; someone will give you advice on work matters

5-1 = a passionate romance – be careful who you get involved with

5-0 = this is not a good time for you: sadness and inaction

4-4 = expect an invitation to a party

4-3 = you feel the whole world is conspiring against you, but that’s not true – only pleasant surprises await you

4-2 = a bad time for you: someone will disappoint you, so keep an eye on your finances

4-1 = don’t neglect important matters or you may lose something

3-2 = be careful with money

3-1 = there are people around you who do not wish you well

2-1 = temporary financial difficulties

2-0 = a journey awaits you, along with changes – something will transform your life

0-0 = failure in every area

Life is like a game of dominoes – you never know who you’ll bump into along the way…

Dominoes is a very simple game and is ideally suited to foretelling the future. Just as with playing cards or dice, where the value of each card carries a divinatory meaning, the numbers on the face of a domino predict particular events in combination with numerology.

You should not lay out more than three dominoes in a single reading or on a single day; otherwise you may struggle to understand the prediction.
